According to the Association of Seafood Exporters and Vietnam Seafood (VASEP), this year, Vietnam's tuna penetrated and expanded markets, bringing the total tuna export market of Vietnam to 87 markets , nearly doubled from a year earlier.

In the traditional market 3 US, EU and Japan, the US remains the main market, accounting for 46% of total tuna export value of Vietnam. The total value of tuna exports from Vietnam to the market 10 months to reach nearly 145 million.

Tuna import market after the US the second most important is the EU. So far, Vietnam has exported tuna to 21 countries of the EU, including Germany, Italy and Belgium is third largest import market. If the previous month, Germany is the largest market in volume of tuna imported into Vietnam but last October, Italy is the market strong signal ahead with growth of up to 258% impressed over the same period last year, reaching nearly $ 3 million. It can be seen as tuna Vietnam has invaded more deeply into this discerning market of the EU.

According to VASEP, as of year-end tuna exports from Vietnam to the growing market "flourishes." However, VASEP said that only rely on efforts to promote exports of tuna local, such as the establishment of joint venture company with Japan in purchasing, processing and export of tuna from Phu Yen province to build a brand for tuna of local is not enough.
